Alexander Misono

M.D., M.B.A, R.P.V.I.

Dr. Alexander Misono specializes in Vascular & Interventional Radiology and is part of Newport Harbor Radiology Associates. At Newport Harbor Radiology, he is the Chief of Interventional Radiology at Hoag Hospital Irvine, Director of Marketing & Business Development, and Medical Director of Vascular Ultrasound.

Dr. Misono is a graduate of Harvard College (AB), Harvard Business School (MBA), and Harvard Medical School (MD). Prior to his career in clinical medicine, Dr. Misono was a management consultant with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and an independent strategy consultant in the life sciences for many years. He completed internal medicine internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital. He then trained in the Diagnostic Radiology residency program at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Following that, he completed fellowship training in Vascular & Interventional Radiology at the world-renowned Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute.

Dr. Misono has served on numerous committees and been an invited speaker at annual meetings of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), American College of Radiology (ACR), and California Radiological Society (CRS). As an educator, Dr. Misono has taught radiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and USC Keck School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program. Dr. Misono is an active researcher in the fields of radiology and interventional radiology, having presented and published over 50 scientific presentations, abstracts, book chapters, and peer-reviewed publications in journals including JAMA, JAMA Internal Medicine, JACR, JVIR, JVS-VI, JVS-CIT, and AJR.
